Thomas Nelson, 1929 1929 hardback Spine rubbed, some foxing, otherwise Good
Spine rubbed, some foxing, otherwise a Good hardback. 378 pages. O. Douglas was the nom-de-plume of Anna Masterton Buchan, the sister of John Buchan. Best known, perhaps, for her novel Penny Plain, her novels were mainly set in small Scottish towns between the wars, as is the case with The Proper Place. The Rutherfurds sell their ancestral home and move to the Fife coast but stay in touch with the new, nouveau riche owners.
